Proteas surprised Panathinaikos to take 2-1 lead in the semifinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Proteas. Panathinaikos managed to win third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Panathinaikos to just 7 points in second quarter.
