There was a minor upset when 14th ranked BBC Bayreuth (9-20) was crushed on the road by sixteenth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (9-20) 91-66 on Thursday. The game without a history. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. British forward Myles Hesson (198-90) chipped in 22 points. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's coach Muli Katzurin felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Brandon Bowman (206-84, college: Georgetown) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Polish swingman David Brembly (197-93) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Bayreuth. BBC Bayreuth lost eighth consecutive game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will face higher ranked BG Goettingen (#10) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
