Finals Game 1: JX-Eneos S. - Fujitsu RW 77-51

JX-Eneos gained the opening victory in the WJBL Finals. They stormed past Fujitsu in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by JX-Eneos S.. Fujitsu RW managed to win fourth quarter 22-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Fujitsu RW to just 7 points in second quarter. JX-Eneos S. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Fujitsu RW's 32. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when JX-Eneos S. made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. International forward Yuki Miyazawa (181-93, college: Queens, NY) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. International forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and international swingman Chinatsu Yamamoto (175-91) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Fujitsu RW. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
