There was no surprise when 15th ranked MBA Moscow (3-26) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Irkut Irkutsk (10-19) 94-81. Irkut Irkutsk forced 22 MBA Moscow turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 32 personal fouls committed by MBA Moscow helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Andrei Kuzemkin (186-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who led the winners and scored 25 points. Center Evgeniy Kalinin (210-87) accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Egor Shahmetov came up with 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Sergei Krasavtsev (208-82) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for MBA Moscow in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MBA Moscow's coach Valeri Sizov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Irkut Irkutsk maintains thirteenth place with 10-19 record. MBA Moscow lost their eleventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 26 games lost. Irkut Irkutsk's next round opponent will be higher ranked Universitet-Yugra (#9) in Surgut and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MBA Moscow will play at home against Spartak-Prim. (#8) and hope to win that game.
