The game in Guaynabo was also quite interesting. Second ranked Vaqueros (9-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Mets (7-7). Vaqueros managed to secure a 9-point victory 78-69 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mets. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 46-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) notched 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Nigerian-American swingman Ebi Ere (195-81, college: Oklahoma, agency: Two Points) supported him with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Even 22 points and 5 assists by the former international guard Christian Dalmau (194-77, college: Daytona St. CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) did not help to save the game for Mets. American forward Will Daniels (203-86, college: Rhode Island) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Four Mets players scored in double figures. Vaqueros maintains second position with 9-5 record having just -1 point less than leader Arecibo. Mets at the other side keep the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with San German and Guayama. Vaqueros will meet at home Manati (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mets will play against Quebradillas and hope to secure a win.
