Regular Season Round 29: Ratiopharm - B.Muenchen 76-87

An interesting game for Bayern Muenchen (23-6) which played road game in Ulm against 4th placed ratiopharm Ulm (19-10). Third ranked Bayern Muenchen managed to get a 11-point victory 87-76. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of ratiopharm Ulm. The game was mostly controlled by Bayern Muenchen. ratiopharm Ulm managed to win second period 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayern Muenchen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Bosnian forward Nihad Djedovic (197-90, agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points. American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. International Tim Ohlbrecht (210-88) answered with 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Per Guenther (185-88) added 17 points and 9 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) in the effort for ratiopharm Ulm. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third place with 23-6 record behind leader Brose Bask. ratiopharm Ulm at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Telekom Bsk. Bayern Muenchen are looking forward to face league's leader Brose Baskets in Bamberg in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ratiopharm Ulm will play on the road against EWE Baskets in Oldenburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
