1/8 Finals Round 1: Paulistano - S.Jose/Unimed 75-76

Sao Jose/Unimed escaped with a narrow road victory over Paulistano in the opener. Paulistano was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 20-15 charge of Sao Jose/Vinac, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Sao Jose/Vinac especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Jordanian swingman Jimmy Baxter (193-80, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists. The former international center Caio Silveira (211-87, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Pilar Alves (201-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Pedro Lima (191-87) added 18 points in the effort for Paulistano. Paulistano's coach Gustavo Conti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
