Regular Season Round 44: Tochigi Brex - Hyogo S. 114-91

Date: April 10, 2015
There was no surprise when 4th ranked Hyogo S. (16-31) was crushed on the road by second ranked Tochigi Brex (38-10) 114-91 on Friday. The game without a history. Tochigi Brex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 62.2 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Tochigi Brex especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Hyogo S.'s players. The best player for the winners was American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87, agency: APAA Sports Group) chipped in 28 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Furukawa is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds and forward Shinnosuke Negoro (195-87) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Hyogo S. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 38-10 record behind leader Hitachi SR. Hyogo S. at the other side keeps the fourth place with 31 games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round. Hyogo S. will play at home against Hokkaido L. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
