Regular Season Round 17: San German - Manati 54-65

There was an upset when higher ranked Atleticos (8-9) lost to eleventh ranked Manati (7-9) in San German 54-65 on Friday. The game without a history. Manati led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. International power forward Ricardo Sanchez (212-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Carmelo Lee (201-77, college: Long Beach St., agency: Paris Global Sports) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Raymond Cintron Cortes (183-90, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with 13 points and 4 assists and forward Benito Santiago (198, college: Cumberlands) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Atleticos. Atleticos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Manati moved-up to tenth place. Loser Atleticos dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Manati will face higher ranked Leones (#7) in Juana Diaz in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
