There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Mamak DSI (11-18) beat 10th ranked Adanaspor (15-14) in Ankara 93-80 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Mamak DSI's pressure prevailed and they won that period 29-21 extending their advantage to 13 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Adanaspor's 40. They outrebounded Adanaspor 47-29 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Adanaspor was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Jarred Shaw (208-90, college: Utah St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Mustafa Bakir Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Jeremy Ingram (190-92, college: N.C.Central) answered with 23 points and the other American import forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Adanaspor. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Adanaspor's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Mamak DSI moved-up to twelfth place. Newly promoted Adanaspor dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. Mamak DSI will face higher ranked Buyukcekmece (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
