Regular Season Round 28: Sevilla - Laboral Kutxa 83-91
Date: April 11, 2015
Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Sevilla (8-20) lost at home to seventh ranked Laboral Kutxa (16-12) 91-83 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 35-21. But Sevilla won third quarter 24-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Laboral Kutxa won last quarter 26-20. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for French Fabien Causeur (194-87) who helped to win the game recording 25 points. The former international swingman Fernando San Emeterio (199-84) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. New Zealand guard Kirk Penney (196-80, college: Wisconsin, agency: Duran International) replied with 20 points and American-Ivorian swingman Derrick Byars (201-84, college: Vanderbilt) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sevilla. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sevilla's coach Audie Norris rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Laboral Kutxa moved-up to fifth place, which they share with FIATC Joventut and Valencia. Loser Sevilla dropped to the sixteenth position with 20 games lost. Laboral Kutxa will face CAI Zaragoza (#9) at home in the next round. Sevilla will play against La Bruixa d'Or (#16) in Manresa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
