Regular Season Round 27: Energa Czarni - Polfarmex KT 76-59

There was no surprise in Slupsk where 10th ranked AZS Polfarmex (11-16) was defeated by sixth ranked Energa Czarni (18-8) 76-59 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-59. The best player for the winners was swingman Karol Gruszecki (193-89, college: Texas Arlington) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists. Four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Czech Patrik Auda (206-89, college: Seton Hall) who recorded 16 points and 4 assists and the former international Bartlomiej Woloszyn (196-86) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Energa Czarni. They maintain sixth place with 18-8 record. AZS Polfarmex lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Energa Czarni will face higher ranked Rosa (#5) in Radom in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS Polfarmex will play at home against Stabill Jezioro (#15) and hope to win that game.
