Regular Season Round 23: Apollon Patras - KAOD 63-67

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Apollon Patras (9-14) was defeated at home by tenth ranked KAOD (9-14) 67-63. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Apollon Patras won third quarter 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international guard Emmanouil Papamakarios (192-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 4 steals. American guard Terone Johnson (193-91, college: Purdue) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) answered with 19 points and forward Alexandros Sigounas (200-88, agency: Octagon Europe) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Apollon Patras. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. KAOD moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Apollon Patras. Apollon Patras lost their sixth game in a row. KAOD's next round opponent will be higher ranked Kolossos (#6) in Rodou and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
