Giessen 46ers upset Nuernberg on the road to gain 1-0 lead in the ProA semifinals. Giessen 46ers made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Nuernberg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Bjoern Schoo (213-81, college: Northern St.) fired 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized American guard T.J. DiLeo (190-90, college: Temple) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. American point guard Braydon Hobbs (196-89, college: Bellarmine) produced 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Sebastian Schroeder (192-88) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Giessen 46ers and four Nuernberg players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
