Finals Game 1: AE Ellinikou - Panathinaikos 71-46

AE Ellinikou overcame Panathinaikos in the opening game of the Finals. The winners therefore grabbed 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. The game without a history. AE Ellinikou led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. AE Ellinikou forced 20 Panathinaikos turnovers and outrebounded them 47-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. American forward Lykendra Johnson (185-89, college: Michigan St.) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Maria Roza Boni (179-86) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Monique Oliver (188-91, college: Rutgers) produced 8 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized American guard Niki Avery (168-86, college: E.Kentucky) added 17 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
