10th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (1-8) were outscored at home by eighth ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (3-5) with the biggest margin this round 94-70 on Tuesday night. The game without a history. Tijuana Zonkeys led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) who had a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) chipped in 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Lathan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Mike Martin (201-85, college: Chico St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Melquan Bolding (190-88, college: Fair Dickinson) added 27 points respectively. Defending champion moved-up to seventh place. Pioneros Los Mochis lost their seventh game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Tijuana Zonkeys will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pioneros Los Mochis will play again against Tijuana Zonkeys (#7) and hope to win that game.
