Kaposvari cruised to the opening victory in the quarterfinal series against Sopron KC. The game was mostly controlled by Kaposvari. Sopron KC was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kaposvari dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Sopron KC's 32. It was a great shooting night for Kaposvari especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American Nikolas Raivio (193-86, college: Portland) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. International guard Andras Rujak (189-88) produced 18 points and Montenegrin swingman Milos Borisov (198-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
