Important game to mention about took place in Mayaguez. Eleventh ranked Indios (10-13) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Quebradillas (11-13) 75-74 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Quebradillas. Quebradillas were trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 17-10 charge of Indios, which allowed them to win the game. Indios outrebounded Quebradillas 37-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. American Romero Osby (202-90, college: Oklahoma) saved the victory by scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. Alexander Galindo (200-85, college: FIU) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Haitian guard Eniel Polynice (195-88, college: Seton Hall) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Ansel Guzman (174-84) added 15 points and 7 assists in the effort for Quebradillas. Five Quebradillas players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Indios moved-up to tenth place. Newly promoted Quebradillas dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. Indios will face higher ranked Atleticos (#6) in San German in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
