Regular Season Round 23: Bayamon - Arecibo 87-80

Leading Capitanes (16-6) recorded its sixth loss in Arecibo. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Vaqueros (14-9) 87-80. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Capitanes. Capitanes were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 47-39 second half run of Vaqueros. It was a great evening for the former international guard Miguel Ali Berdiel (198-83, college: Valparaiso) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. American power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) helped adding 23 points and 10 rebounds. The former international point guard Alvin Cruz (186-82, college: Niagara, agency: Paris Global Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists and Italian-Uruguayan point guard Leandro Garcia Morales (188-80, college: Texas A&M) scored 15 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vaqueros maintains third place with 14-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Santurce. Capitanes at the other side dropped to the second position with six games lost. Vaqueros will play against Brujos (#4) in Guayama in the next round. Capitanes will play on the road against Quebradillas and hope to get back on the winning track.
