Top ranked Unicaja Malaga (24-5) recorded its fifth loss on the court of sixteenth ranked Sevilla on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Sevilla 75-70. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Unicaja Malaga. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Unicaja Malaga won fourth quarter 14-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was New Zealand guard Kirk Penney (196-80, college: Wisconsin, agency: Duran International) who scored 17 points. Latvian power forward Kristaps Porzingis (215-95) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Caleb Green (203-85, college: ORU) who recorded 13 points and Uruguayan-Italian point guard Jayson Granger (188-89) added 9 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sevilla (10-20) moved-up to fifteenth place. Unicaja Malaga at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Real Madrid. Sevilla are looking forward to face higher ranked Andorra (#14) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Unicaja Malaga will play against the league's second-placed Real Madrid (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
