Forca Lleida fired past Palma in the playoffs opener. The game was mostly controlled by Lleida Basquet. Palma was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Palma 39-25 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Javier Mugica (200-83) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side and Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-89, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: APAA Sports Group) accounted for 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Antoni Vicens (203-90, agency: BrezoPro) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) added 12 points respectively for Palma in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
