Finals Game 3: Snaefell - Keflavik 81-80

Snaefell defended their Dominos League title. They held off Keflavik to sweep the championship series today. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Keflavik won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Snaefell forced 22 Keflavik turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Snaefell made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American swingman Kristen McCarthy (182-90, college: Temple) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Hildur Sigurdardottir (178-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Sara Run Hinriksdottir (165-96) who recorded 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Bryndis Gudmundsdottir (178-88) added 13 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Four Snaefell and five Keflavik players scored in double figures.
