Lucentum fired past Marin in the opener. Meridiano Alicante led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Forward Joan Pardina (202-93) stepped up and scored 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and power forward Alejandro Navajas (201-86) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists. Meridiano Alicante's coach Kuko Cruza felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American-Nigerian forward Ike Azotam (201-91, college: Quinnipiac) responded with 15 points and Jamaican-American guard Garfield Blair (196-87, college: Stetson) scored 16 points.
