1/8 Finals Round 1: Iwate Big Bulls - Fukushima 82-59

Iwate dominated Fukushima to gain 1-0 lead. It looked good early as Fukushima took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Iwate Big Bulls had a 20-6 second period charge getting the lead and Fukushima was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-82. Iwate Big Bulls dominated on the defensive end, holding Fukushima to just 6 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Fukushima 50-32 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game. Forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple, agency: APAA Sports Group) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) chipped in 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Dai Oketani felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) responded with 17 points and power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) scored 9 points and 14 rebounds.
