Okinawa GK fired past Oita Heat Devils and reached the quarterfinal stage. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Oita Heat Devils was better in third quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Okinawa GK made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK's coach Tsutomu Isa felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Todd O'Brien (213-89, college: UAB) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import guard Drew Barham (198-89, college: Gonzaga) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds.
