Riyadi raced to the opening win in the Finals. They overcame Byblos at home court in the opener. The game without a history. Al Riyadi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American-FYR Macedonian forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St.) fired 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. Bosnian-Serbian center Ratko Varda (212-79, agency: Beo Basket) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international power forward Ali Kanaan (207-85, college: Mass.-Lowell) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
