There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Atleticos (17-18) lost to tenth ranked Indios (15-20) in San German 74-82. It looked good early as Atleticos took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Indios took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. 26 personal fouls committed by Atleticos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. International point guard Filiberto Rivera (190-82, college: UTEP) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists. Indios' coach Eddie Casiano used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Dexter Pittman (208-88, college: Texas) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and international forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Indios and five Atleticos players scored in double figures. Indios maintains tenth position with 15-20 record, which they share with Quebradillas. Atleticos at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 18 games lost. Indios' next round opponent will be higher ranked Leones (#3) in Juana Diaz and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
