Real Madrid handed the second straight defeat to Gran Canaria and sealed their semifinal appearance. It looked good early as G.Canaria 2014 took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Real Madrid had a 24-20 second period charge getting the lead and G.Canaria 2014 was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 86-93. Real Madrid made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The former international point guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) notched 26 points to lead the effort and international Sergio Llull (191-87) supported him with 22 points. Even a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists by point guard Albert Oliver (187-78) did not help to save the game for G.Canaria 2014. Dominican forward Eulis Baez (201-82, college: W.Illinois) added 13 points for the hosts. Four Real Madrid and five G.Canaria 2014 players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
