Cuba topped Venezuela to gain 2-0 record in Group B. Yamara Amargo stepped up with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Cuba opened a 21:18 lead after ten minutes. Veneziela denied the deficit in the second frame. They evened things up at 34 at the interval. Cuba however bounced back witha 39:28 run in the second half to get away wih the victory. Clenia Noblet and Leidis Oquendo had 14 points each for Cuba. Roselis Silva answered with 22 points for Venezuela.
