Play-Offs Round 1: Aguilas - Llaneros 87-84

Aguilas overcame Llaneros in the playoff opener. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-23. But Llaneros won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Patriotas won last quarter 18-16. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Byron Westmorland (193-90, college: Bowie St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import Jereal Scott (203-89, college: SF Austin) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Patriotas players scored in double figures. Venezuelan forward Juan Herrera (197-81) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and center Jhon Hernandez (206-85) added 23 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Llaneros. Llaneros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
