Play-Offs Round 3: Llaneros - Aguilas 98-77

Llaneros fired past Aguilas and sealed their semifinal appearance. The game was mostly controlled by Llaneros. Patriotas managed to win fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Llaneros dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Patriotas' 40. They outrebounded Patriotas 31-18 including a 22-7 advantage in defensive rebounds. Llaneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for center Jhon Hernandez (206-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Mexican-Puerto Rican guard Joseph Soto (190-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists for the winners. American Andre Armstrong (190-91, college: Coppin St.) answered with 25 points and the other American import Jereal Scott (203-89, college: SF Austin) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Patriotas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
