No shocking result in a game when Gruner Stern Keltern (2-0) defeated on the road Oberhausen (0-2) 76-71 on Friday. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-71. American guard Ashlee Guay (168-93, college: CS Northridge) scored 22 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and French point guard Magali Mendy (178-90) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. American guard Jylisa Williams (176-89, college: Georgia St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import forward Amber Thompson (188, college: St.John's) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Oberhausen players scored in double figures. Gruner Stern Keltern will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Oberhausen will play against SV Halle Lions and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
