Regular Season Round 2: Perlas-MRU - Petrochema 61-63

A very close game took place in Vilnius between Petrochema and Perlas-MRU. Petrochema (2-0) got a very close victory on the road over Perlas-MRU (0-2). Petrochema managed to escape with a 2-point win 63-61 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Perlas-MRU was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Strangely Perlas-MRU outrebounded Petrochema 41-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) notched 14 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) supported him with 12 points. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) did not help to save the game for Perlas-MRU. Forward Domantas Pipiras (203-91) added 13 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Petrochema will meet Silute (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Perlas-MRU will play against Palanga (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
