MBK Ruzomberok (3-1) recorded its first loss in Piestany on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by top-ranked Piestanske C. (2-0) 53-47. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of MBK Ruzomberok. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But MBK Ruzomberok won third quarter 9-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded MBK Ruzomberok 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. International forward Lucia Krc-Turbova (186-89) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Czech point guard Katerina Bartonova (174-90) chipped in 7 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The former international point guard Zuzana Lazarova (168-87) produced 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and international swingman Dominika Baburova (179-91) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Piestanske C. moved-up to third place. MBK Ruzomberok at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Piestanske C. are looking forward to face BAM Poprad (#7) at home in the next round. MBK Ruzomberok will play against the league's leader Good Angels (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
