Regular Season Round 4: Vytautas - Siauliai 78-76

Bottom-ranked Siauliai (0-3) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to sixth ranked Vytautas (2-1) 78-76. It looked good early as Siauliai took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vytautas had a 28-17 second period charge getting the lead and Siauliai was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-78. It was a very good performance for guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Gytis Sirutavicius (195-83) contributed with 18 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. Egyptian forward Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and guard Paulius Dambrauskas (192-85) added 14 points in the effort for Siauliai. Vytautas moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Siauliai at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Vytautas' next round opponent will be P.Zvaigzdes (#3) in Pasvalys, which may be the game of the day. Siauliai will play on the road against Nevezis (#9) in Kedainiai and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
