Regular Season Round 1: AEK Athens - PAOK 65-53

AEK Athens used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Thessaloniki 65-53 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by AEK Athens. PAOK was better in third quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (203-85, agency: BeoExcell) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. The former international swingman Kostas Vasiliadis (200-84) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AEK Athens will face Lavrio on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. PAOK will play against Nea Kifisia and hope to win that game.
