Finals Game 1: Bucaros - Piratas 108-86
Date: October 11, 2015
Bucaros recorded the first victory in the Liga DirecTV Finals. They cruised past Piratas in the opener. The game without a history. Bucaros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Piratas only scored eight points from the stripe. Bucaros forced 20 Piratas turnovers and outrebounded them 52-37 including 18 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Piratas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Horace Wormely (168-84, college: Vanguard) contributed with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) added 21 points in the effort for Piratas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
