Regular Season Round 4: Helsingborg - Brahe Basket 89-69

Helsingborg has registered their first victory this season after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Brahe Basket (0-3) 89-69. Helsingborg dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Brahe Basket's 40. Helsingborg forced 19 Brahe Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Helsingborg brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. The winners were led by swingman Simon Birgander (207-97) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 blocks (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Patrik Andersson (191-94) supported him with 20 points. Five Helsingborg players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by Vahe Gazigian did not help to save the game for Brahe Basket. Jordanian forward Ali Mamoun (185-83) added 20 points for lost side. Helsingborg (1-4) left bottom position moving up to tenth place. It was Brahe Basket's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Orongo. Helsingborg will play against higher ranked Lobas (#6) in Lomma in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brahe Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Huskvarna Wetterbygden.
