Regular Season Round 6: Tromso - Asker Aliens 89-82

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Asker Aliens (2-1) on the court of top-ranked Tromso on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Tromso 89-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Asker Aliens. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-82. Tromso well out of reach of Asker Aliens shooting 70.8 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Tromso especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. It was a good game for American point guard Charlie Lee (175-92, college: Cleveland St.) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. Bulgarian guard Kiril Raykov (192-87) contributed with 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Tromso players scored in double figures. Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Espen Stien (186-86) replied with 33 points (!!!) and DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Asker Aliens. Tromso have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Ammerud Bskt. Defending champion Asker Aliens dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with Centrum. Tromso will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Asker Aliens will play on the road against Baerum Basket in Bekkestua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
