Regular Season Round 5: LF Future - Ostersund 83-81

The most exciting game of round 5 in the Basketettan took place in Lulea. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Ostersund (3-3) to leader LF Future (3-0) 83-81 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ostersund. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 2 points. Strangely Ostersund outrebounded LF Future 37-23 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Joel Svensson (185-94) who scored 24 points and 5 assists. American guard Brian Curry (185-86) chipped in 20 points. Center Mattias Markusson (217-96) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and point guard Gustav Hansson (185-95) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LF Future have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with KFUM Uppsala and Koping. Newly promoted Ostersund dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
