Regular Season Round 3: Vanoli CR - JuveCaserta 69-60

There was a minor upset when Juvecaserta (1-2) was defeated on the road by Vanoli Cremona (1-2) 69-60 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-16. But Juvecaserta won second period 14-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Vanoli Cremona won last quarter 18-10. They made 23-of-24 free shots (95.8 percent) during the game. Juvecaserta was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Tyrus McGee (188-91, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Priority Sports) helped adding 6 points and 10 rebounds. Vanoli Cremona's coach Cesare Pancotto used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was American-Guinean forward Robert Jones (201-84, college: Washington) with 11 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Valerio Amoroso (204-80, agency: Interperformances) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Vanoli Cremona will face Scandone AV (#12) in Avellino in the next round.
