Regular Season Round 4: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Strasbourg 79-90

Very significant was Strasbourg IG's (#8) 90-79 road victory against 7th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Strasbourg IG. Pau-Lacq-Orthez was better in second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strasbourg IG dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Pau-Lacq-Orthez's 26. Strasbourg IG had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. His fellow American import forward Steven Smith (203-83, college: La Salle) added 19 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Strasbourg IG have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 6 other teams. Pau-Lacq-Orthez at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Strasbourg IG will play against STB Le Havre (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
