Regular Season Round 4: Melilla - Palma 94-78

Date: October 23, 2015
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Melilla Baloncesto and 9th ranked Palma had identical 2-1 record. This time Melilla Baloncesto used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from S'Arenal 94-78 on Friday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Melilla Baloncesto. Palma was better in third quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Melilla Baloncesto shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (201-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 steals and guard Marcos Suka-Umu (192-85, agency: Interperformances) who added 15 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (207-76, agency: Duran International) responded with 25 points and point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Melilla Baloncesto (3-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Palma dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Melilla Baloncesto will face Burgos (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Palma will play against Leyma Basquet and hope to win that game.
