Regular Season Round 7: Lietkabelis-2 - Petrochema 63-81

Very expected game in Panevezys where 14th ranked Lietkabelis-2 (1-6) was defeated by eighth ranked Petrochema (4-3) 81-63 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-63. Petrochema outrebounded Lietkabelis-2 36-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points. Forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) helped adding 12 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Gediminas Zalalis (205-95) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Audrius Stasaitis (192-81) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Petrochema moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Lietkabelis-2 lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Ezerunas-Karys. Petrochema will meet at home league's leader Mazeikiai in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lietkabelis-2 will play against Telsiai (#7) in Telsiu and hope to win that game.
