There was a surprise result when sixth ranked Badajoz (1-1) defeated at home second-ranked Linense (1-1) 84-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-73. American forward James Johnson (196, college: Culver Stockton) stepped up and scored 29 points for the winners and his fellow American import guard Sean Hill (188, college: Chicago St.) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Johnson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Jose Maria Balmon (204-81, agency: Duran International) responded with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Miguel Ortega (188-91) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
