Regular Season Round 5: Rostock - Schwelm 98-71

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Rostock (4-1) smashed at home 8th ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (2-3) 98-71 on Saturday. Rostock shot 33 for 47 from the free-throw line, while SG Schwelmer Baskets only scored seventeen points from the stripe. SG Schwelmer Baskets were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized American Andres Murillo (201-90, college: Biola, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 18 points. Point guard Tim Vogt (181-90) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Rostock players scored in double figures. Guard Mathias Perl (188-89) produced 17 points and 4 assists and Croatian point guard Zeljko Novak (184-89) added 15 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rostock. They moved-up to second place in North. SG Schwelmer Baskets lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Rostock will face Hertener Loewen (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play against Recklinghausen (#12) and hope to win that game.
