Regular Season Round 2: ONMU-Vimar - Interkhim 44-107

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Odessa: Interkhim (#1) and ONMU-Vimar (#2). ONMU-Vimar was smashed at home by 63 points 44-107 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game without a history. Interkhim led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held ONMU-Vimar to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Interkhim forced 27 ONMU-Vimar turnovers and outrebounded them 48-29 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by ONMU-Vimar's players. Center Kristina Karp (193-98) had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward Tetyana Antonyuk (187-95, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Interkhim players scored in double figures. Interkhim's coach Iryna Shchipakina felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lithuanian forward Julia Gladchenko (184-77) responded with 10 points and point guard Anastasia Drozdova (167-96) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Interkhim will meet Tavriyska Zivka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ONMU-Vimar will play against SDYUSHOR-4 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
