Regular Season Round 3: Istanbul DSI - Socar Petkim 84-94

There was no surprise when Istanbul DSI (0-3) was defeated at home by Socar Petkim (3-0) 94-84 on Saturday. Socar Petkim made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Canadian center Sean Denison (211-85, college: Santa Clara) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Taquan Dean (193-83, college: Louisville, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Four Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) who recorded 27 points and 5 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import forward Mikael Hopkins (206, college: Georgetown) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Socar Petkim will face Pertevniyal (#7) in Istanbul in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
