Regular Season Round 5: Cordoba - Novaschool 69-55

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Cordoba and bottom-ranked Novaschool had identical 0-1 record. This time Cordoba used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Malaga 69-55 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Cordoba. Novaschool was better in second period 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cordoba forced 23 Novaschool turnovers. Point guard Jose Medina (185-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 assists and 6 steals for the winners and guard Arturo Lopez (188-92) chipped in 24 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Center Anastasio Vazquez (204-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and forward Andres Diaz (196-96) scored 17 points. Novaschool's coach rotated twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cordoba (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Group D-East, which they share with Andujar. Loser Novaschool still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
