It looked good early as Barcelos took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vitoria SC had a 31-19 second period charge getting the lead and Barcelos were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-78. International forward Joao Balseiro (192-87) nailed 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and point guard Pedro Catarino (184-90) accounted for 19 points and 4 assists. Power forward Joao Torrie (200-91) came up with 13 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Andrew Ferry (190-90, college: Cornell) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Barcelos in the defeat. Five Barcelos players scored in double figures. Barcelos' coach Joao Tiago tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vitoria SC moved-up to fifth place. Barcelos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Vitoria SC's next round opponent will be higher ranked Oliveirense (#3) in Oliveira and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
